I love clean surfaces! However, if you walk into my house on any given day you will wonder how much, exactly, do I really love clean surfaces. My counters fill up with the various things of life very quickly. Just how hard is it to just put things away? Very hard, apparently.
Yesterday, I had enough. I tackled the mess which you see here on the left. Games, magazines, bills, flashlights, brochures, unread newspapers, trash, rocks, you name it, had to find a new home. I consider myself to be a pretty organized person. I reflected on this while I cleaned up my mess. I realized that I need a better "counter system" than the one that is currently being employed. I also need less stuff. I believe a spring clean
ing is in order. A purging of all things unused. Maybe the boys can follow my lead and go through their things, too. I don't think they will enjoy it as much as I will. This is a huge project. Which will be much easier tackled with the husband on site to help. So, I guess it will have to wait until the weekend. Until then, I will try to keep my counter clean and find something new to hold all of the stuff that inevitably ends up on the counter.

Hey Kelly,
Good job on the cleaning - the before and after shots have inspired me... lucky for me, it is almost 11pm. So I can postpone my cleanup until tomorrow!! But I am going to get on it - taking photos of our piles seems like a good motivator for me. We'll see!
See ya,
Julie
Don't be freaked out but before and after pictures give my chills...I love a good clean (not the actually process sometimes) but I am a master purger. I would love to run the show clean sweep. Organizing is a passion...too bad I don't have more time and energy to do it on a regular basis. The counter looks beautiful!!
