I guess I could call this a vacation. The boys certainly would. However, it isn't quite the same without my husband around. He had to stay home and work. BOO! My parents have a cabin in Pinetop, AZ and spend the summer up there. They are going out of town for a few days and asked if I would like to housesit for them. Hmmm, 80 degree days, rainy afternoons, and a change to our daily pace. Yes, please!
The kids and I hit the road this morning, me with my coffee, The Peach with her lovey, and the boys with their DVDs. We arrived in the afternoon to lovely weather, comfortable porch furniture and chocolate chip cookies. My mom had set out the Legos that they built during their previous stay and they went right to them. I love coming to the cabin. Mostly because my Mom takes care of all of us, but also because there isn't anything to do at the cabin but relax. And play outside. And go on buggy rides.
We are here until next Wednesday and during our stay we plan on doing all kinds of cabin things. I think the boys are a bit disappointed that Amee and Papa are leaving us here alone. Cabin life is a little bit easier when they are here. They can get away with a lot more, and I make them actually clear their plates after dinner. We will do our best to soak it all up because when we get back, school is right around the corner. While the boys are really excited for school to start, I can't believe that summer is almost over.
Too bad it is HOT until November.
