Earlier this year my husband and his brother decided to do a summer series of races. They started working out together and thought that signing up for a series of 5Ks will keep them motivated. The series was put together by Arizona Road Racers and at this particular race, my husband chose to do his first 10K. He also signed the boys up for the "fun run" which was really a "fun run for 100 yards and then walk the rest of the way."

After our mile walk, the boys got to enjoy all of the food options that are available to runners finishing their races. They ate more oreos and cookies than I can count. E, however, opted for an apple when the junk food started to get to him.

Since my husband was doing his first 10K we had to wait a while for him to finish. So, we sat in the shade, ate the snacks, and drank water. The Peach was content to sit in her stroller and take it all in.

When the kids spotted their Dad, they got all excited and started cheering for him. Run, Daddy! Run!! The weather was beautiful that morning and we had a great time going out to support Dad. While my husband and his brother started doing these races to keep them motivated to exercise, these races have turned my husband on to running. Equipped with his Garmin, he now pounds the pavement every day he can.
