Last night The Peach was joyfully running and laughing through the house when she tripped and her face had the unfortunate opportunity to meet with the edge of a table. She went from utter glee to extreme pain in a nanosecond. I heard the collision and turned around and saw her clutching her nose. I was expecting to see blood. There wasn't any. Instead I saw a very dark purple mark across her nose. After doing a combination of holding her and trying to inspect her nose, I was able to get her to calm down. After a while she was back to playing and she thoroughly enjoyed her bath. I was glad that she was happy and glad that she could breathe through her nose.
Today the mark has faded a bit, but the SWELLING. Yowza! Girlfriend looks like she has a smooshed nose. Oh, I am hoping and praying that she only has cartilage trauma and not a broken nose. Oh, please, NOT A BROKEN NOSE!! From what I understand, noses are built to be shock absorbers. Let's hope that is the case. For now it is a wait and see kind of game. If her nose looks funny after the swelling goes down, I am told, a visit with a plastic surgeon is in order.
