I love shoes. I also love that my sister and I have the same size foot (thanks to my pregnancies) and I can borrow her wonderful shoes. Today we had our pictures taken by a dear family friend, Jamie. I just love the way he captures my boys. We have so much fun with him. Anyway, my sis let me borrow the lovely Kate Spade sandals you see here to the right. If you can't tell, that is a jeweled scorpion on the top. Now, that is the ONLY time I will allow a scorpion to sit on the top of my foot. I usually find one scorpion per week in my house. That is a whole other blog entry. I hate them. They scare me and their sting hurts. Anyway, back to shoes. If I had a lot of money to spend, I would love to just sit in the shoe department at Saks Fifth Avenue and try on shoes all day long. Fun shoes, pretty shoes, comfy shoes, outrageously uncomfortable shoes that look fantastic so who cares if they hurt my feet, you name it. Last Christmas my sister and I got a very generous gift from our grandmother. Instead of saving it, I decided that I was going to buy something I wouldn't usually just pop into a store and buy. While we were having fun in Las Vegas, I bought myself a beautiful pair of Manolo Blahniks. Unfortunately, black patent mary janes don't go well with my work out clothes and general lounge around the house attire. So, I don't get to wear them as often as I would like. Regardless, they have a special place in my closet and are waiting patiently for me to put them on again. Anyway, picture day is over and I have returned the pretty shoes to my sister. They will be missed, but at least I got to wear them for 2 hours. They are also a one-minute drive down the street, if I need them again. So, until I score a big payday (via the lottery, or my fantasy "stay at home mom bonus check") you might find me window shopping at the new Jimmy Choo store and browsing the shoe section of the jcrew online catalog. I just love shoes!
