The Peach had her 18 month check up last week. She still isn't speaking. But, she is doing all of the things that lead up to speech. Her doctor isn't too concerned since she is communicating with me. She follows commands, gestures, babbles, points, and everything else possible to get her point across. It is clear that she knows MANY words. But I am ready to hear her sweet little voice talk to me. I think she will be a lot less frustrated once she starts speaking. My Pediatrician did tell me about Arizona Early Intervention for speech delays that is available through the school district. I suppose it wouldn't hurt to have her evaluated and start any therapy early.
On another note, she jumped up a curve for weight. She is now in the 90th percentile. Girlfriend likes her food. And I love her chubby little thighs. She remains in the 50th percentile for length and still has her huge 90th percentile noggin. She is currently interested in every book she finds as well as climbing on anything she can get on to. I have frequently been finding her at the computer, sitting in the chair, and tapping away at the keyboard. Like mother, like daughter?
